Similar games that are essentially like Blackjack

There are other styles of blackjack in circulation: 21st century blackjack, for example, is an American version of the game which is highly popular along the west coast of the US. The game continues on beyond going bust and a player’s bet can still push as long as the dealer busts on a higher count of cards than the player.

Pontoon is another example of slightly different blackjack games. Although originally English, there are other games such as Spanish 21 which also comes from the States but is known as pontoon in Australia. Both games are vastly different to one another and the original blackjack, but similarities are glaringly obvious.

There are also some localized renditions of blackjack. France has Ving-et-un (literally translated as twenty one, which is the basis for modern day blackjack) while Germany has Siebzehn und Vier (seventeen and four) in which the ace is always counted as eleven. The German rendition counts two aces as blackjack and although not often seen in casinos it is highly popular in the military.
